The awesome thing about real estate is that it provides us with great learning lessons. The great thing about a REI club is that you can now you can share those lessons with the membership. Give us a short lesson, 5 to 15 minutes in length, on a real estate topic or skill. the R.E.I. Association members have learned a great deal about practices and principles of real estate from other caring, diligent members.
From lessons on how to give a ‘Pearl of Wisdom’ presentation, to how to have a great lawn, to how to best negotiate with sellers and tips for screening renter applicants. Even words of encouragement about your first REI deal or a tough deal you finally closed can be a life-changer for a fellow member.
You don’t have to be a real estate guru to help others. Sharing your small life experiences can positively impact others and build relationships. And your lesson does not have to be a big production. Here is How Easy It Is
Take the Lead! Run a Monthly Meeting, Subgroup
When I ran a meeting there would always be a few people afterward who’d offer to call with deals or take me to lunch. I think it’s the idea that the person running things knows something about what’s really going on. There’s no line of people waiting to talk to the guy at the bottom of the mountain; the old wise men are at the top. I’ve made some great friends; not to mention a good bit of money from some deals sent my way. ~

Over the last month of our vacation I have attended an R.E.I. Association meeting about every other day around Pinellas County Florida. The amount of real estate talent and experience here is fantastic. I was lucky enough to have found an small underground group that focuses on the neglected concept of ‘Social Exchanging’.
When you look close at the intangible ingredient expressed by the word “exchange” you’ll find that Exchange is the very essence of wealth. But even more: land, labor, brains, and many other fundamental and essential elements are at the root of and created by our ‘exchanges’.
So, what does this have to do with you as a real estate investor?
The answer depends on how much you want to get (and give) in every transaction. You see, many investors leave a ton of wealth on the table during every transaction they do. The sad part of this oft misunderstood concept is that the ‘value’ you are leaving behind sits and rots on the table because no one else can capture it besides you, the investor who made the initial deal.
